Help, my email account was hacked!

Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that hackers get access to your email accounts and use them to send spam. These instructions explain how to fix this.

Step 1 - Change the passwords for all accounts
Step 2 - Scan your computers for viruses and malware
Step 3 - Check if you are using SSL in your email settings
Step 4 - Contact support to have outgoing emails suspended
Note:If we discover that an e-mail account is being misused, e.g. to send spam, we will temporarily suspend the outgoing e-mail server. You can still receive email, but you can't send any.

Step 1 - Change the passwords for all accounts

First, you need to make sure that the hacker no longer has access by changing the password for every email account you have created on this domain.

You can do this in the control panel for all accounts, or in webmail for each account individually. Check our guide for more information.

Step 2 - Scan your computers for viruses and malware

A hacker got access to your email account because he found out your password. This is why it is important to scan all of the computers you use to log in to your email account for malware.

Step 3 - Check that you are using SSL in your email settings
