There are few universities in Austria that offer courses with the title Earth Sciences. As already mentioned, you will find comparable course content in the geosciences and geology courses, but also geo sciences, geography, meteorology and atmospheric sciences.

What requirements do I have to meet to study Earth Sciences?

An earth sciences degree or geology degree usually requires that Secondary school leaving certificate (Testimony of Matura, Abitur certificate). If you do not have a Matura and still want to study, find out more about your options in the article Studying without Matura.

As a citizen with a secondary school leaving certificate and citizenship of Switzerland or EU / EEA countries or non-EU / EEA countries, you may have to have one Proof of language proficiency (German level C1) and submit your secondary school leaving certificate as a certified translation alongside the original. In the master’s program, too, you choose key areas of study and gain practical experience F.ground courses, excursions and field work. You will write your master's thesis in the fourth semester and complete your studies with a Master of Science (M.Sc.).
