What is the APAC domain in TCS
This document describes how to set up external media storage with Telepresence Content Server (TCS). Cisco recommends using a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device that builds on the Windows storage server and is also certified by the Windows Hardware Quality Lab.

The default location for Content Server media files is E: drive. You can also save files on NAS devices so that the recording capacity is not limited by the storage space on the content server. When you set up a NAS device, the content server saves recorded media in a temporary directory on the content server and then automatically saves them to the NAS. The content server streams the media from NAS. The file sharing protocol used by the content server for the NAS device is Microsoft SMB.
- Make sure that TCS, TCS users and the external storage server are part of a domain.
- Add a user who has Site Manager access to the TCS.
- Log into the TCS web interface - Server Overview and verify that the media storage location is set to Local Content Server
- The space available on the external storage must be larger than the total size of the media files.

The information in this document was produced by the devices in a specific laboratory environment. All devices used in this document started with an empty (standard) configuration. With your network up and running, make sure you understand the potential implications of a command.
Step 1: Back up the content server.
Step 2: Add the content server to the same domain as the NAS.
Step 3: Select an account in the domain that IIS on the content server will use to access the share on the NAS, or create an account. This domain account must have administrator rights for the content server and rights for the NAS share.
Step 4: Create a user in the domain (e.g .: ricky \ tcs_nas_user) and make this user the site manager of the TCS.

Step 5: Create a folder on the external storage location (TCSNASUSER).
Step 6: Adding Share Permissions to the Shared Folder.
- Set permissions for the share so that the content server and the shared account (in this example ricky \ tcs_nas_user) have full control over the share. Right click on the release and then on Sharing and security. Then click on Permissions. click on Add.Click on Object types. Choose Computer off. click on OK.
- click on the Sharing tab - Advanced Sharing - Choose Share this folder - Click on authorization- Click Object Types and select Computer. Add one of the TCS Site Managers (domain user = tcs_nas_user).
Step 7: Add security permissions to the shared folder.
Click the tab security. click on Add.
Repeat the steps that you took under the tab Permissions and give the content server and ricky \ tcs_nas_user full control of the NAS share.
Step 8: TCS wizard
RDP to the TCS server. Click on the desktop TCS assistant.
- If you have an active call, the assistant will ask you to end all calls. The content server is also in inactive mode, so that no new calls are accepted or no transcoding jobs are carried out while the wizard is running. The wizard must be completed (or canceled) in order to reset the content server to normal operation (online mode).
2. Click on Alternate Storage (NAS) wizard.
3. Complete the credentials for the shared domain account.
4. Fill in the remote server information for the new NAS location in this format: \ server_name \ share_name \ The server name must be entered as a DNS name and not as an IP address.
5. The installation program checks the privilege level for the shared user account and the space available on the external storage. In the Content Server Checks step, check whether the content server has been secured and the antivirus software has been stopped. If you have not backed up the virus protection software or exited, cancel the wizard and follow the steps. Then run the wizard again. If you on Abort click, the system does not change.
6. Click on Completeto exit the wizard. If tests fail, you cannot continue. Check the remote NAS configuration and information entered and try again.
Step 9: When the process is finished, click on Complete. It is not necessary to restart the server. The logs of the TCS wizard are under E: \ logs \ SetupUtility available. To check the location of the new media, scroll to Management Settings> Server Overview.
