Our market-leading ecoecho® range offers environmentally conscious solutions for almost every need. For a Duni product to achieve ecoecho® certification, it should meet at least two of our four environmental criteria: renewable, compostable, responsible procurement or resource-efficient.

These criteria must apply to the majority of the product. One criterion can also suffice if the relevant material obviously drives the change towards more sustainable practices compared to standard alternatives. In addition, most ecoecho® products are recyclable.

For several years we have focused on developing a wide range of plastic-free designs. Today they are part of our sustainable ecoecho® range. We welcome the EU Commission's directive on combating environmental pollution from single-use plastic products. We share concerns about plastic litter in the ocean and are determined to lead the way in closing the loop in our industry.

With a new structure and more volume, the new Dunilin® feels even better. Dunilin® is softer and thicker than ever and offers an absolutely pleasant mouthfeel. It can hardly be distinguished from fabric in terms of look and feel, but in contrast is always flawless in shape and color and is perfect for any kind of napkin folding. You do not need to spend time handling, checking or sorting out the laundry, so you have more valuable time for your guests.

All colors and motifs are now compostable. The new Dunilin® meets the Duni ecoecho® standards. The icing on the cake? You get a wide selection of attractive designs, harmonious plain colors and new formats that make it easy for you to redefine your look again and again - whenever you want.

Take Away boxes from Octabagasse bring the classic Octaview design language to life with high-quality, environmentally friendly materials.
They are suitable for hot and cold dishes and are made from compostable bagasse and a lid made of 100% recycled PET (rPET). From Q2 2019, bagasse lids will also be available. The ideal solution if you want to do without plastic.

Napkins bearing the “OK Compost HOME” label can be thrown on the compost heap in your own garden. They compost at lower temperatures than industrial composting. This is how a used product becomes a new resource!

NEW ECO MATERIAL

The grass paper that we use for our "Leaf grass paper" placemats and Sachetto® napkin bags offers significant benefits for the environment. It consists of 40% grass fiber and 60% FSC®-certified fabrics.

Grass paper is recyclable, compostable and extremely resource-saving, as only little water and electricity are required in its manufacture. In addition, the grass that is used for production is sourced locally.

NEW PILLAR CANDLES

Already in the design of our pillar candles, which have been awarded the “Nordic Swan” environmental seal, attention was paid to environmental compatibility: They are made from 100% fully traceable stearin, have clean burning properties, emit little soot and are provided with high-quality, pure wicks. To ensure that they meet the highest standards, they go through internal and external tests (DEKRA).

For a Duni product to achieve ecoecho® certification, it should meet at least two of our four environmental criteria. One criterion can also suffice if the relevant material obviously drives the change towards more sustainable practices compared to standard alternatives.

The product is made from materials that are biodegradable in industrial composting plants in accordance with the EN 13432 or ASTM D6400 standards. Available certifications are “OK Compost Industrial” for industrial composting and “OK Compost Home” for home composting.

Examples of compostable materials that we offer: tissue, Dunilin®, bagasse, PLA / CPLA.

The product is made from raw materials that are significantly more resource-efficient than standard alternatives. For example, recycled materials, under-processed fillers like lime, and by-products that would otherwise be considered waste.

Examples of our resource-saving materials: bagasse and rPET

The product is made from renewable raw materials from the biosphere: wood or plant material. Renewable raw materials are part of the biomass CO2 cycle and, unlike carbon-based materials such as crude oil, do not contribute to global warming. Examples of renewable raw materials that we offer: bagasse, stearin, birch wood, PLA and CPLA.

The product is made from raw materials that are part of a certification scheme that ensures socially and environmentally responsible practices in forestry or plantations.

Example of a responsibly sourced raw material that we offer: the wood fibers from FSC®-certified forests that we use for our napkins, tablecloths, plates and cups.

Compostable bagasse is a great example of upcycling. It is made from a raw material that is left over from industry during sugar production: sugar cane stalks.

  • Accordingly, CPLA can withstand temperatures of up to + 70 ° C, PLA up to + 50 ° C.
  • Suitable for industrial composting.

After use: Depending on local regulations, you can dispose of the material with food waste for industrial composting or recycle it as bioplastic. Please observe the local regulations on waste separation and obtain information from your local waste disposal company.

NIELSEN, 2018

Blue Mission, the platform for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program, defines the guidelines for the entire life cycle of our products. It emphasizes that we consider waste disposal, along with a strong focus on developing and using sustainable materials, as the key to our success.

We work very closely with our suppliers to ensure that they meet the highest standards. We carry out regular supplier audits and check that they maintain sustainable values, adhere to our strict code of conduct for suppliers and comply with all applicable EU regulations.

We test the ecoecho® materials, like all the other items we offer, thoroughly to ensure that food is not contaminated if it comes into contact with our products. After successful tests, we issue a document, the so-called "Declaration of Compliance". This describes the conditions under which the product was tested.

If you want to represent sustainable values, you have to be sure that your products come from a responsible partner who shares these values with you. We are your reliable partner:
