Tutorial: How to Start a Successful Drop Shipping Business with Shopify
Website builders have become relatively commonplace these days, but Shopify is a fantastic choice for dropshipping. In simple terms, we can summarize its advantage in three areas; It's easy to use, powerful, and dropshipping friendly.
The graphical, user-controlled interface as well as ready-made templates and blocks for site creation make them usable for practically everyone. No need to learn coding or design, you can just move things where you want them.

Although Shopify focuses on building websites quickly and easily, it has an extensive app store through which you can expand its functionality. The features that you can add are wide-ranging, covering everything a dropshipper needs - from sources of goods to payment processing and shipping.
Here are the steps to starting a Shopify dropshipping business:
Before you begin: Do your keyword research
The key to being successful in dropshipping is finding a profitable niche. Before you start building your website, it is a good idea to research which goods are best for you. To manage this, keyword research is important.
As a cheap (free) way to use this, try Google Keyword Planner and test the products you want to sell. This will give you an estimate of the interest in these products.

This simple search can help you identify which products are more interesting than others. Experiment with the Keyword Planner to get a better idea of what might sell better.
With this information, you can find the dropshipping supplier that offers the best price and a reliable fulfillment process.
Dropshipping on Shopify in 7 easy steps
1. Register for a Shopify account
Registering an account with Shopify is free. All you need is an email address to verify your account with and you can sign in with them. No credit card or other payment method is required. Shopify offers all new users a 14-day trial on their system.
When you register, you must also provide a name along with your e-mail address. This name will be used to generate your shop url during the free trial period.
Once that's done, Shopify will need your name and other details to process payments. It's a short form to fill out so don't worry about that.

2: Install dropshipping apps
Once you have completed the registration process, you will be redirected to your store dashboard. From here you can add products to your website. This is where one of Shopify's highlights for dropshipping comes in: Shopify apps.
For new dropshippers, Shopify can be a one-stop resource. The first thing you need to do is go to Shopify Apps. First click Apps, then select "Visit the Shopify App Store". When you are there, search for 'Oblero'.
Oberlo is a dropshipping platform that makes it easy to find dropshipping products and add them to your store. Once you have completed the installation, you can start exploring the products on it.
In this example we're using Oblero, but there are other dropshipping platforms in the Shopify App Store that you can use too, such as Sprocket and AliExpress. We'll talk about this more later in this article.
3. Search for the products you want
Using dropshipping apps is as easy as shopping on an ecommerce website yourself. First, select the category you want to browse. Move the mouse pointer over the desired item and click on "Add to import list".
When you have added all the elements you want, click on "Import list" in the navigation bar of the Oblero dashboard. From there you can customize descriptions, categories, and other details.
4. Import selected products to your website
When you're happy that things are the way you want them to be, check the box in the top left of the product box, then click "Import into Store". Repeat this process for all previously selected products.
5. Set up your Shopify store
After you've prepared all of the products that you want to sell, it's time to set up your business. Think of your Shopify store as the face of your retail business. This is how your visitors browse the products you sell and select the items they want to buy.
To maximize your sales, your business must combine attractiveness with ease of use and speed. Don't worry, Shopify has pre-made templates that you can use. You can use them "as is" if you want. If you prefer something more personal, you can customize the theme you choose.

6. Customize your Shopify dropshipping store
Customizing Shopify themes depends on which theme you choose. The segments available by default can be enabled or disabled, or you can even add new segments that you want. To customize these sections, all you need to do is specify parameters, e.g. B. Which product collection you want to add to each section.
In the left navigation bar you will find a list of all segments that are activated by default in the topic. If you click on any of these sections, you can provide details such as: B. which product collection should be displayed there or even how many rows or columns should be displayed.
If you'd like to turn off any of these preset segments, just click the eye icon and it'll disappear from your site. At the very bottom of the left navigation bar is an option that you can click to add a new segment. Clicking on it will bring up an extensive menu of items for you to choose from.
When you're done, make sure to hit the save icon, even if you don't want to publish your store just yet.

Step 7. Set up payments
Now that your products are selected and your store is set up, you need a means by which to collect payments from your customers. Shopify works with a large number of payment processors, so you have a wide choice.
To set up payments, click the Settings button in the lower left corner of your dashboard. Next, select "Payment Providers". By default, PayPal is the enabled method so you can either customize your account details there or choose a different payment processors by region.
Some payment processors like MOLpay require you to have an account with them in order to use them on your Shopify website. Even PayPal requires you to have a merchant account, but you will be emailed details on that later.

We earlier used Oberlo as an example of a dropshipping app that you can use. It offers an extensive product catalog and more functions than before. There are others that you can try too. Check out this list.
In addition to your regular search and add system, Oberlo makes it easy to find products that are trending. This way you can quickly keep your product lines up to date and always offer your customers the best bargains in town.

Spocket is a dropshipping app that works with suppliers all over the world. However, it is better known in the US and EU regions. The app is packed with features and offers dropshippers a wide range of products. You can also customize your product views beyond the category and even specialize in niche areas like high discount items or more. Spocket users can also benefit from their 24/7 customer support.

AliExpress claims to offer dropshippers profit margins of up to 2,000 percent. Although it is based in China, it has gone global and is now shipping all over the world. Using the app in Shopify is immensely easy and enables your customers to access their very wide range of products anywhere.

Plans and Pricing: How Much Does It Cost?
As you can already see, many of the things we've covered here are free and included in the cost of your Shopify subscription. Apps like Oberlo, Spocket, and AliExpress, as well as hundreds of others, are free (although some are paid).
Shopify itself comes at different prices depending on the needs of your business. Realistically, many smaller dropshippers can likely get away with their basic Shopify plan, which costs $ 29 a month. As your business grows and you need more features, it may be time to move up.

If these fees seem a little high to you, then they need to be used in conjunction with ecommerce websites. Many ecommerce websites can generate significant profits for their owners. One example is Ninjadark, who made over $ 250 / month in profit within a year of launch. It was then sold for over $ 2,500 on Flippa (see the picture taken above).
The new owners then flipped it over to Flippa and aimed for an even higher price tag at over $ 14,000. This is a great scenario that clearly shows how websites can easily increase their value and the strength of the website resale market.

In one word; YES. Shopify offers dropshippers so much value that there really isn't anything in their pricing structure to flinch about. Remember, for the price you pay, you can get everything you need to run an ecommerce business.
Additionally, Shopify has simplified so many things that virtually anyone can use their system. As long as you have an idea of the products you want to sell and are willing to invest some time in research, it is difficult not to succeed on this excellent platform.
