Does your company offer a scholarship program?

Free University of Berlin

Scope of funding

Financial support: The Germany scholarship is 300 euros per month for at least two semesters. Private donors such as companies, foundations, alumni and other private individuals take over 150 euros of this. The federal government pays the other 150 euros. The receipt of the scholarship is independent of income and can be combined with BAföG.

Non-material funding: In addition to financial support, the Deutschlandstipendium of the Free University of Berlin offers its scholarship holders a diverse accompanying program of ideas. A willingness to participate is expected from the scholarship holders. This also includes the willingness to contact the private donor who is co-financing your scholarship.

Funding period

Funded students should have their backs free for as long as possible and concentrate on their training. The funding usually lasts at least two semesters and covers a maximum of the standard period of study. For exceptions see here.

In the current funding year, the Free University carries out a performance review. If the result is positive and if the private funds are still available for funding, the scholarship will be extended by one year at a time, as long as the standard period of study is not exceeded.

Chances of getting a scholarship

Unfortunately, no binding statements can be made about the chances of receiving a Germany Scholarship, as the number of applicants and the number of available scholarships vary from year to year. The application process is low-threshold: it is completely online and there are no interviews. You should therefore apply in any case if you are eligible to apply and have checked the selection criteria.
